The USA is the second largest meat consumer in the world per capita (source: The Economist). Exploring a complete protein source that can be locally made and that is versatile is key to curbing meat consumption and shifting the American diet to being more resource efficient and having a lower carbon footprint.
Based in Austin, Texas, we are working with local partners to contribute to the strong entomophagy movement in the USA. Since the USA is a market leader and trend-setter worldwide, increase in edible insect consumption locally will lead to a strong following globally. We are hoping to leverage this in our other jurisdictions.
Cricket Powder
Our current operations in Austin, Texas focus on commercial-scale farming of the highest quality organic crickets exclusively for human consumption. We have established an industrial facility that has the capacity to produce up to 7 million crickets on a weekly basis. These crickets are then processed into a fine, nutrient-packed powder that is manufactured in our state-of-the-art commercial kitchen. Cricket powder is used as a nutrition supplement and flavor enhancer in many products, including energy bars, baked goods, diet supplements, and food condiments. It is versatile as a cooking supplement and adds a protein boost to a variety of snacks and meals.
