When I got the initial email from Sean looking for sponsorship partners, I dutifully clicked on the link to his website to check him out. What I saw there impressed me so much I replied immediately thinking this was a guy I needed to know!
Sean Burch is nothing if not adventurous. He holds several world records (7 to be exact) including the fastest ascent of Mount Fuji at four hours and five minutes; most first ascents in Tibet with 63 summits in 23 days; fastest time up Mount Kilimanjaro at five hours and 28 minutes. Sean has 14 first ascents in Greenland and 23 in Mongolia. Let's just say he is pretty badass even for an extreme adventurer.
Sean's current adventure is a quest for his 8th world record by first exploring previously unexplored regions and mountains of the Chandi Himal in far Western Nepal; and then attempting to summit the most previously unclimbed Himalayan mountains in the history of Nepal by way of First Solo Ascents (FSA).
Impressed yet? Well, it gets better.
Sean is also a humanitarian and really wanted to partner with Aspire because he believes our missions are very aligned. Well, we did too so it was the perfect match and we couldn't be happier that he found us (and our crickets)!
He has partnered with the Nepal Trust organization, to raise funds and awareness for healthcare for women and children within the remote regions of Nepal, and to showcase the direct global warming affects to land untouched by mankind. To this end he is planning an augmented reality documentary that will be filmed during the trip.
We are delighted to sponsor Sean and will be posting updates of his trip on social media as it progresses. You can learn more about Sean on his website.
