Paleo Life Hacks: Food You Didn't Know You Could Have!

by Yosha Singh in Cricket Recipes

The “Paleolithic Diet” or the Paleo Diet is diet based on the foods available to humans during the Paleolithic era--more than 10,000 years ago! The diet includes foods such as vegetables, fruits, nuts, and meat, while excluding foods such as dairy products, grains, sugar, legumes, processed oils, and alcohol or coffee.

The restriction of very common modern foods may feel like a restriction on your favorite meals--but it doesn’t have to be! Below you can find what Aketta likes to call, “Paleo Life Hacks”--learn about the delicious foods you thought you couldn’t have.

  1. Toast

Toast--the quintessential convenient breakfast food. All of the sausage, bacon, and eggs in the world don’t replicate the crunch of toast. But now you know it isn’t something you have to give up! There are a variety of Paleo bread mixes available online and in some grocery stores. For an extra boost of protein, add Aketta cricket flour. Add ¼ Aketta flour to every serving size of the mix--and follow this link for instructions for your perfect morning toast!

  1. Crunchy Snacks

Speaking of crunch, who hasn’t fallen prey to the salty snacks that have slowly infiltrated our homes? In a recent study of 1000 dieters, it was found 40% of dieters cheat with salty snacks--yikes! You don’t have to cheat on your diet to enjoy a crunchy snack. You just need to know how to eat smart.

Aketta seasoned crickets provide you with your needed Paleo crunch. Aketta crickets can be eaten individually as a snack, or they can be added to any of your favorite dishes. Click here for recipe ideas by Aketta!

  1. Baked Goods

“No dairy” may sound like “no baked goods”, but baked goods are still a possibility in the Paleo world. It’s just a matter of getting the right ingredients! Traditional non-Paleo baked goods have added sugars, grains, and can lead to soaring blood glucose levels. For all the best substitutes for sugar and grains when baking, click here. 1. Pancakes

Pancakes are the beloved brunch item for all. Warmth meets just the right amount of sweet--and it amounts to a major craving. Fear not, Paleo-prescribers, for pancakes can definitely still reflect healthy eating. There are plenty of pancake mixes available online and in grocery stores (like Walmart!) that adhere to Paleo standards. For an added boost of protein, add Aketta cricket flour, and you are sure to feel good after eating good. Try Aketta Protein-Packed Paleo Pancakes.

  1. Granola Bars

Few things can beat the convenience of granola bars. They are the packable snack and required boost of energy after a long afternoon. A lot of popular granola bar options are full of high-fructose corn syrup, and even if not, they can be flooded with sugar! Yikes. For a great healthy treat, you can try these replacement granola bars: sesame orange honey zest bars. Simple ingredients, healthy living.
